I threw the bowl on the electric potter's wheel and then let it dry for a day. When it was dry enough, I trimmed the base neatly and carved the pattern into a herringbone motif. Finally, I glazed the bowl in a cool dark green glaze, so it fits both a man's and a woman's interior. The top rim of the fruit bowl has been left unglazed, so you can clearly see the contrast with the red firing clay.
