I've made three drainage holes in this flowerpot so that excess water doesn't accumulate at the bottom of the pot but can drain away easily. The matching saucer catches the water.
This large flowerpot isn't perfect, as you can see at the top that the rim is slightly higher in some places. But that's part of handmade ceramics, especially with such a large form. It's all hand-thrown on the electric potter's wheel. Then trimmed and finished, fired, glazed, and fired again.
